Bulletin107 – December 2023

This issue showcases the CIHS’s annual general meeting, held in October 2023, and this year’s Gunn Prize-winning essay by Alexandros Balasis. Next comes an examination of how humanitarian aspects began to be considered in the refugee resettlement program, and a career overview of Jack Mitchinson, the CIHS’s oldest member at 98. The issue also gives a first-hand account of the young Noorallah Jamal’s early integration experiences in British Columbia after fleeing Uganda in 1972, and marks the passing of John Baker, former immigration foreign service executive, program manager and mentor to many.
