The CIHS website now includes a list of all of Canada’s ministers and deputy-ministers responsible for immigration matters from 1867 to today. Between 1950 and 1966 and from 1993, the immigration minister has been and is responsible for citizenship. Otherwise it was the Secretary of State with that responsibility This list is published with permission from and in collaboration with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
