Bulletin 110 – September 2024

Bulletin 110 focuses on two themes:

  1. The Political Persons and Oppressed Persons Designated Class: development of the policy and legal framework for this class and its implementation, focused on events in Latin America.
  2. Articles from the CIHS’s copy of the 16 April 1910 issue of Canada Weekly.

These items offer our readers an opportunity to reflect on what aspects of Canada’s immigration story were of public interest at the time.

Other articles:

  • A full update on the Hearts of Freedom project
  • Details about 2024’s 25th anniversary of the Canadian Museum of Immigration History at Pier 21
  • A report on the 50th anniversary dinner held by some of the immigration foreign service group members who were part of the 1974 intake
  • A 1910 report about a Doukhobor group that settled very well in Verigin, Saskatchewan
