We have compiled a list of all of Canada’s ministers and deputy ministers that have been responsible for immigration matters from 1867 to the present.

Between 1950 and 1966, and from 1993, the immigration minister has been and is responsible for citizenship matters. At other times, a Secretary of State had this responsibility.

Immigration matters have fallen under several cabinet portfolios since 1867 – please see the links below for detailed listings of ministers and deputy ministers under those portfolios.
